One would be hard pressed to find a similar-sized area anywhere in the U.S. that can compete with this region in the number and variety of restaurants, shoreline activities, and easy access to museums and entertainment, not to mention the array of artists and arts organizations that populate the area. The region's popular nickname of "Gold Coast" certainly applies as well to it being a veritable treasure chest of cultural icons. Visitors to this web site can access the most comprehensive listing of restaurants throughout all of Coastal Fairfield County. Also included is a cultural inventory listing arts organizations, cultural institutions, museums, etc. in the region. The cultural inventory is accompanied by a Cultural Assessment conducted by Dr. Craig Dreeszen.
